LUKE CABROL
DIRECTOR
National Certificate in Arboriculture (Level 4 – Advanced)
Workplace Assessor in Arboriculture
Luke began his arboricultural career in the UK nearly 20 years ago, becoming the youngest ever crew leader at First Call Trees. In 2008, he brought his skills to New Zealand and joined Tree King in 2010, playing a key role in building its reputation.
In 2017, he became the proud owner. While he spends much of his time quoting and running the business, Luke still enjoys training crews and occasionally climbing into a harness himself. With his leadership, Tree King has become a leader in residential and commercial tree care across New Zealand, committed to delivering an employee and customer experience second to none.
NICKY GIBBS
GENERAL MANAGER
NZIM Diploma in Management
Nicky has been part of Tree King since its beginnings, helping shape its administrative foundation. In 2023 she stepped into the role of General Manager, bringing corporate experience from industries including security, health insurance, banking, childcare, and building supplies.
She is passionate about making Tree King a great place to work and delivering a positive customer experience. Outside work, Nicky enjoys bushwalking with her dog, watching her son play sport, and exploring new places.
EVANDER DE GROOT
OPERATIONS MANAGER
With more than a decade of experience in arboriculture and high-risk work, Evander brings strong technical knowledge and leadership.
He has led crews in New Zealand and Australia, managed complex rope access and tree projects, and is a certified trainer committed to safety and efficiency. He also competes regularly at national tree climbing events.
ANDREW CAMPBELL
SENIOR ARBORIST / ACCOUNT MANAGER
Andrew joined Tree King in 2018 with over 10 years of experience. Skilled as a climber, tree-feller, stump grinder, and problem solver, he is a key member of our quoting team and coordinates crews across Auckland.
Andrew is known for going the extra mile for clients and supporting the team in the field. Outside of work, he enjoys kayak-fishing and perfecting low-and-slow barbeque.
BONNIE ROBERTS
ADMIN ASSISTANT
Bonnie joined Tree King in early 2022 and is the friendly voice greeting customers on the 0800 line.
She has a diverse background in early childhood education, car sales and even guiding Northern Lights tours in Canada. Today she brings that same enthusiasm to supporting Tree King clients.
Working alongside Nicky, she ensures every customer has a smooth experience, whether arranging a quote or helping to resolve an issue.
