Palm trimming

Palm trimming should generally be carried out at least once a year, sometimes more frequently if the palms are over something fragile that you don’t want dead fronds falling on to.

The Phoenix palms shown on the right had been neglected for many years but photos demonstrate what a difference a bit of trimming can do. The state of the palm before pruning has a strong influence on how good it will look after pruning.

Palm removal

The trimming of palms tends to be expensive due to the difficulty and danger involved in working with them. Palm mulch also needs to be dumped at refuge stations as it is not often suitable for recycling. Phoenix palms are problematic in this regard and many of our clients opt for complete removal rather than pruning. Contact us now for a free quote>
